I'm a petrolhead with a big heart for adventure, travel, flying and great food. I've driven dozens of cars and many amazing roads, yet the best one will always be the next one. I believe the same applies to cars as it does for food: if it's made with love and attention to detail, you can taste the difference.
Why the name "Flying Elmer"? Eilmer (aka Elmer) of Malmesbury was an 11th-century Benedictine monk who dreamed of flying by gliding with wings attached to his hands and feet. Success is irrelevant, he had a bold dream. He typified the spirit of those early enthusiasts who imagined a better future. Flying would no longer be mystical magic, but achievable by idea, effort and logic. When my daughter was two years old, she came up with this catchphrase for me "stop it Elmer, that tickles". Later on we went to see airplanes together and she renamed me as 'Lento-Elmeri' (aka Flying Elmer in Finnish). I also have that drive for reaching something bigger, and for me this website is just that. We all have dreams in everyday life, it may be as simple as enjoying the perfect dinner or traveling to the unknown.
I want to share the next adventures with you. Which is not so much about results, as it is about having the courage to dream, enjoying the good vibes and having fun while doing it. It's time to take a leap out of the nest into the air and ground waiting down below.
