Sometimes a simple and fun idea gets wings and develops into a beautiful tradition. Flying Elmer appreciates and respects these pioneers who take the courage and effort to arrange something that is for the public benefit, fun and involves cars! So there was this idea - let's gather all the sports car owners for breakfast and then let's invite folks to see the cars.
One by one, the idea gained popularity and suddenly there were over a hundred sports cars attending this event, letting everyone enjoy the fabulous sounds and looks of these mighty machines. Managed currently by the esteemed Sports Car Club of Helsinki, the event is organized at pre-announced dates by the Hotel Gustavelund in Tuusula, a thirty minute drive from Helsinki. This is not your regular parking lot convention at the local gas station, there are some very special cars on display - both brand new and vintage. Since it's introduction, manufacturers have found the event and now they also attend to showcase their sports car line ups. So cars from all ages, sizes and price ranges - something for everyone.
Event idea as such is simple. Owners with sports cars (see Sports Car Club of Helsinki website for preferred models as guideline) arrive in the morning at the museum and fill the parking lot. There might be a special corner for certain brand or theme, but in the end just make sure you arrive on time before it's fully booked. Event is open and free for all visitors, so owners and guests can enjoy watching the cars arrive and then examine them up close, maybe even breaking a conversation with the owners. Scene of the event, Hotel Gustavelund, offers a delicious and fairly priced breakfast for all the visitors. In the end it's all about having fun with some very special and fantastic cars, that's what we love.
